Beware of the Shoprite LLC Personal Assistant Scam

Scammers are making it particularly easy to spot the scams these days. If the job ad you’re reading offers you a lot of money for relatively little work, it’s a scam. If the “employer” wants you to process payments or checks, it’s a scam. If the ad is filled with broken English and the “employer” says he can’t use a phone because he’s hard of hearing, it’s a scam.

Here’s a fake job ad that utilizes all three.

Dear Applicant,

Founded in Lyon,France in 1875, Shoprite invented racquet strings and is the oldest company specializing in racquet sports e.t.c.Am looking out for someone that can be trusted and reliable to work with good understanding. This is a part and flexible position, working with me is basically about instructions and following them.

Your tasks might come impromptu, so you have to be flexible to meet up with the irregular timings As my personal assistant, your task amongst other things might include;

*Running personal errands, supervisions and monitoring, keeping me up to date with them acting as an alternative telephone correspondence while I’m away, making regular contacts and drop-offs on my behalf, handling and monitoring some of my financial activities.

I move around the globe for business meetings, seminars, workshops e.t.c. Right now, I am in the France and should be in USA in 3 weeks time.

Your basic salary is $1000 / 2weeks.

This positions is not for office based for now because of my frequent travels & tight schedules. It’s a part time position as long as you can access your email daily. This job gives you room to run your 2nd job or even 3rd job so far you can access your email daily because most updates and communications are done through email. As i have said, I’d want us to get the head START with things as soon as possible. I do have a lot of work piled up at present and a number of task which you can immediately assist me with. I really need to find the perfect person for this job. With your resumes, i believe you can take up the challenge and on the long run we should have a relatively sound working relationship between us.

I am online most of the time, as I do have difficulty hearing so I prefer we contact each other through emails, but if there is need to call i will surely do.I am glad you are willing to work with me & I promise to be a good Boss.Some of our debtors that we supplied racquet strings are paying this week, since i am not in the states at the moment, i will like you to process the payment for me. Meanwhile, there is a 5% commission on any payment processed then i will tell you what to do with the funds prior my arrival in the states.

I love the whole secret agent spy angle this scammer is working. I really wish this type of job was real. I’d want to work as an international personal assistant and I’d like to have one of my own. This is definitely going on my list of things to accomplish in my life.

Unfortunately, this is just another fake check/payment processing scam. You know, the scam that will leave you thousands of dollars in debt and possibly with a criminal record.     The way the information requested on this type of Personal Assistant scam
    is formatted at the end of the promotion is also a give away of scam/fraud
    along with wire transfer western union type scams that do the same kind
    of request and format.
