This post is set to be published around 11AM Eastern Time. At that point, I’m going to be somewhere over Mid-West America, on my way back to Las Vegas. Unfortunately, I’ll only have a two hour layover there. It’s not enough time to leave the airport and go to In-N-Out Burger (you West Coast readers don’t know how good you have it) and it’s just enough time to drag on.

From Vegas, I’ll be headed into LAX before taking off for 16 and a half hours on a plane ride to Australia! First stop Melbourne! We’re planning on touring this city for a few days. We even have tickets to an Australia Rules Football game. I tried watching a few videos to pick up on the rules or even the point of the game, but failed to come up with anything. All I know is it looks absolutely ridiculous. If you have a minute, click on the link and check it out.

From Melbourne, I’ll be heading to Cairns to snorkel at the Great Barrier Reef. I’m not exactly sure how to convey my excitement into words here, but this part of the trip is going to be absolutely mind-blowing I’m sure.

After a few days there, I’ll be headed out to Uluru and Ayer’s Rock to tour the park and enjoy some original Australian culture. I’ve included a picture of Ayer’s Rock with the post. Yes, that giant red mountain is actually one giant rock formation. I’ve got my camera gear ready to go for this part of the trip. The pictures I’ve seen online look absolutely breathtaking and I can’t wait to see it in person.

We leave Ayer’s Rock and head out to Sydney for the last leg of our trip. I plan to tour the Sydney Opera House and climb the Sydney Harbor Bridge. The rest of my days are open to adventure. I’ll be flying back to LAX from Sydney on flight 815 of Oceanic Airlines. I can’t imagine anything would go wrong with our flight. One last stop in Vegas and then I get to return home.

Whew. I’m going to need a vacation after I return.

As for this blog, I’m completely caught up on posts. Every day a new post will go live with special thanks to the guest posters who have participated their works. I’m going to be a bit slow in answering emails and questions, but I hope you understand.

Well, that’s my agenda for the next two weeks. Hopefully I’ll have some good stories and pictures to share with you all when I return.

Wish me luck!

As Aussie Rules Football is to you Americans – so is Grid Iron to us Aussies!
The point of each game – get the ball to the other end of the field and score a goal for your team! Hope you enjoy the game – Aussie Style!!

Steve, your trip to Australia you will love—“I’ve Tried That!!” I also toured NewZealand which is the most fascinating country in the world. It’s too bad you can’t extend your vacation to tour that, too. Have fun!! Joanne

I’m deeply envious. Was in Oz two years ago – didn’t do Cairns or Uluru but Melbourne and Sydney are great places. It’ll be a meaningful experience. Enjoy!

Ok Steve I wish you luck and I am glad you are getting a dream trip as a reward for helping warn us of the pitfals and scames on the internet.

…..I am from Las Vegas and I am wondering where on the West Coast you think Vegas lies? I will visit IN-N-Out Burger and haver one-with-the-works in your honor….perhaps two.
