  4. I have recieved a similar mail…check below

    Dear Sir,

Thanks for your response although I have not been able to respond to you
    due to busy work loads.

My proposal is basically personal as I am interested in a credible
fruitful business relationship with you and I hope you would acknowledge
this business cooperation with the best of your understanding. I need your
collaborative partnership to invest with you and I will like us to have a
very comprehensive discussion regarding the investment plan and further
    detail.

I am interested to set up a private investment with you and I need your
understanding as this is a personal intent without the involvement of my
company CNOOC. I also want to let you know that I am a person of high
integrity who will not involve in any illicit or dishonest business if
    there is no reality.

Having worked with both the government and major companies in China, I
have now determined to set up my private business life as the main reason
why I have contacted you through this medium. I am pleased to let you know
that I have acquired a very extensive portfolio which is impressive and
indeed a great asset from the oil and Gas sector, and it takes special
dedication, commitment and perseverance to acquire or get through such a
demanding course of achievement and have now decided to settle down to
    establish my private investment.

I have the available fund for the investment of which I believe will be
substantial to handle the areas I have suggested bellow. However, my
definite reason to set up a private investment in a foreign country
(outside China) tarries with my years of social commitment and
contribution to CNOOC and many other Chinese companies hence I am now
approaching towards retirement and I would not invest such a larger scale
of business and money here in order to protect my identity.

Having this established in your country we both can maintain meaningful
rights in our business cooperation as shareholders I have no problem with
that in as much as we abide by the obligation.

    I have the following ideas for this investment;
    *****
    1. Real Estate Business: Apartment/building, Hotels with modern
    facilities.
    2. Cement Plant/Industry (Manufacturing and supply)
    3. Fuel/gas Stations in different cities, regions/locality,
    Biofuels, etc
    4. Energy and lighting Solutions, Mining Corporation, Construction
    5. Highly skilled services in Oil logging (Upstream and downstream
    operations, Exploration and discovery)
    *****
Let me know if you have any experience in the above sectors. Another
Option is this: I may be interested to invest in your present company as a
shareholder, or we may set up a separate Joint Venture company.

If you consider my ideas to be viable and profitable in your country, or
you have other ideas to recommend. Please advise so we may have a
particular focus and proceed with the formalities for this investment
    accomplishment.

  7. This email seems very similar to one above. What throws me about this one is the use of seemingly (from what I can find) legitimate information. It must be the gmail address for the president (suspicious in itself that he would contact me) that is erroneous.

Some threatening arrest, believe me people if the FBI wanted to talk to you they would come to your home !!!!!! One of the first signs of a scam is if the email is not directly addressed to your name it should be immediately suspect !!

  14. The offer of jobs on line is old hat now. I have sent you e-mails of lottery wins, Beneficiary millions, and money found in Iraq which you shoul be publishing. Publish the various ways scammers operate. One scammer has even had the nerve to ask for my Bank Pin number so that they can transfer the millions and only greedy people will fall for it. Nobody says that we would not all like to have millions but, do it the Legitimate way, not the Illegitimate way. I even get threaths that if I do not comply with Bank details I will be arrested, what a laugh! and yet there will be people who will fall for it. God save us from the Greed of people.
