  1. Sheila Cain says:

I just wanted to share one way I found to make a little extra money online (a LEGITIMATE way!). If you have an Amazon.com account, register (it’s free). Then in the Amazon search box, type in Mechanical Turks. There, you can sign in as a ‘worker’ with your Amazon account. It’s basically completing HITS (human intelligence tasks) and filling out surveys, mostly from universities doing research on various subjects.

One tip: Do NOT accept HITS that require you to give your email address or to ‘buy’ anything. Those HITS you ‘report’ as they violate the Mechanical Turks policy.

I have been using Mechanical Turks for about a month now, and made a little over $100. You can either have the money transferred to your bank account or put on an Amazon.com account/gift card. It’s not a lot of money, but hey, every little bit helps!
