It seems that it is human nature to ride on successful people’s coat tails. It happens in all industries to various degrees. It also happens from an individual level right up to a company level.

This week’s product review, name drop’s Alex Jeffries, a prominent and success online marketer, as the inspiration and support behind the product itself: Sales Funnel Profits.

As the name suggests this system is designed to help you create and improve your sales funnels.

The Pitch

Name dropping aside, the pitch is pretty standard marketing fare.

Want more money?
This video will show you the simplest and fastest way to make money online today. Watch it for free right now.

It uses excessive bold and highlighting, fancy charts that prove very little and tactics to get you into the right mind-set.

The author states:

“But I’m not here to try playing mind tricks on you like some wannabe guru.”

Yet he then goes on to play those mind tricks by sharing a sob story, he said he wouldn’t share.

I have to say I couldn’t help but read the part where he drops the price from $997 to $9.95 like one of those infomercial sales men. There was something just so cheesy about it.

Purchasing Sales Funnel Profits

As mentioned, the core product is just a flat fee of $9.95.

If you do purchase this product I would expect being marketed to quite heavily down the line as the sales funnel is geared at paying affiliates: the front end offer is 100% commission, so is the downsell and the upsell is 75% commission.

What this means is that he is trying to get the affiliates to sell as many as possible to build a list to promote to.

The Product

After purchasing and navigating the upsells, the core product becomes available.

If you, like me, tend to refer back to training multiple times, then make sure you have a pen and paper ready to take notes and timestamps, as the training consists of one main 1 hour 30 minute video plus a few worksheets.

There are 2 other seemingly core product videos available too. Both are over an hour each and advice regarding automating your funnel and getting traffic.

I found the overall quality of the video, both audio and visual, were great (except for the weird banging noise that starts around the hour mark…).

It was very frustrating not being able to easily go back and forth between topics. It would have been nice if the author had broken the videos down into multiple, smaller, videos.

I was surprised when early on in the video, the narrator shows some actual proof of a successful business. Was the success due to this sales funnel technique? It’s hard to say but as I listen to him, more and more I feel that this is real information.

The video solely focuses on sales funnels and breaks them down into 5 core areas:

  1. Traffic
  2. Free Offer
  3. Core Offer
  4. Upsell
  5. Email List

The first 25 minutes or so is general fluff and an overall discussion.

The video only touches on traffic, the differences between fee and paid traffic.  It’s quite a brief section in terms of training.

The main take away from this is that traffic is “not the problem”, instead it’s the rest of the funnel that matters.

Free Offer

This part of the video talks about the best way to provide a free offer as part of your funnel and how free offer must have value to the visitor.

Core Offer

There isn’t much to say about core offers, but instead the narrator discusses how things like the free offer provide value and get the visitors ready for a potential purchase of the core offer.

I loved the fact that here, and elsewhere in the video the narrator emphasises that while the aim is to automate things,  there is still work involved and that this system is not a push button system.

The training turns to upsells and how to find them, and use them.

Once more the narrator is pushing value at you, and with good reason: value can be turned into profit.

It mentions how an email list can be used to build both trust and brand image.

The Other Videos

These two videos cover automating your business and getting traffic respectively.

They were good videos, though the automation one spent  one hour of its ninety minute length not covering automation, but instead covering other aspects like niche research, sales copy etc.

It was good, but not quite what I was expecting.

The Bottom Line

Is Sales Funnel Profits a scam? No it isn’t

You certainly get some bang for your buck, and overall the training is fairly decent.

I do have a few gripes though.

Firstly there is just too much fluff. This often happens with video training where the narrator only has a general work flow rather than a script and then goes off on a tangent and waffles. Seriously, you could shave off a third of the video without losing content.

Secondly, as I have stated before, one long video sucks!

On the plus side, this is a pretty good breakdown of how sales funnels work and how you can implement one in any business, especially for newbies.

There are parts that could have been looked at in more depth, but what was looked at was discussed well. The narrator could of also prepared more, it’s kind of boring to watch him type words out while speaking them very slowly.

Overall, Sales Funnel Profits is not a bad product regarding one specific aspect of internet marketing.
