Steve is in the shower washing the scam off, so I get to write the full review of rebateprocessorjobs.com. Like absolute suckers, we had to spend $39 of our hard-earned dollars, signed up and prepared to make tons of money. However—surprise, surprise—it’s not what the sales page led us to believe. Here’s the short review: to say that these are “jobs” is a bald-faced lie. It’s affiliate marketing. The sales page says you’ll make $15 per rebate processed. What it doesn’t tell you is that the $15 is what’s left of your sales commission after you send a rebate—from your own money—to your buyer.

Here’s the long review:
Why you’re here
What the site leads you to believe
The truth

Other rebate processor “jobs” sites
But Joe, don’t some people make money with affiliate marketing?
Together we can put misleading Web sites out of business

Why you’re here
You’re probably here because you’ve searched for ways to earn money online. The Google gods sent you to sites saying they would help you get a job processing rebates at home. You thought, “Hmmm…that sounds pretty good. I can do that.” But you decided to look around a little to see if the site is legit. You searched some more and that brought you to us.

You came to the right place. Unlike other sites that say “we’ve tried them all and THESE are the legitimate ones,” we are not an affiliate of rebateprocessorjobs.com. We try stuff out and give you the straight truth.

What the site leads you to believe
Rebateprocessorjobs.com targets people who are searching for online jobs or other ways to earn money from the Internet. It counts on you being a little bit desperate and it appeals to your emotions by telling you that your money problems can be over and you can have the lifestyle you’ve always wanted.

It claims that you can make a lot of money by processing rebates at home, and it leads you to believe that this processing is “a job.” Well, it kind of depends on the meaning of the word “job.” If it means “work in which you throw up advertisements all over the Web in hopes that someone will buy from your ad,” then yeah, I guess it’s a job. But Rebateprocessorjobs.com knows that you don’t think of a job that way, so it’s lying by intent. Note to Rebateprocessorjobs.com: Hey! Yeah, you, “Cindy Dalton!” Here’s what “job” means: An agreement with an employer in which you exchange your time and skill for an agreed-upon amount of money. Of course, they already know that. They’re counting on you thinking that. The sales page is expressly written to lead you to believe this.

The site leads you to believe that you’ll get a job processing rebates. You think, like I did, that such a job would involve companies telling you which customer have made a qualifying purchase, and then paying you to do the necessary typing and stuff. This is not the case. The “company” making the sale is you through your Clickbank ads. The “forms” you’ll fill out to “process” the rebates are the fields necessary to send your money to the buyer from your PayPal account.

Rebateprocessorjobs.com also claims:

  • “Make money simply by filling out online forms”
  • Enter the data into the forms that we provide you, click submit, sit back and collect the money
  • You’ll earn $15 per rebate processed
  • You can make this much money:
    2 a day @ $15 each=$210 per week or $840 month or $10,080 a year.
    6 a day @ $15 each=$630 per week or $2520 month or $30,240 a year.
    15 a day @ $15 each=$1575 per week or $6300 month or $75,600 a year.
  • Opportunities like this do not come by every day.

The truth
All of these claims have kernels of truth to them, but they are intentionally misleading.

  • “Make money simply by filling out online forms.” This is a lie. You won’t make money by filling out the forms like you would if it were a real job. You make money IF someone clicks on the ad you created by filling out the form AND THEN buys the product!
  • Enter the data into the forms that we provide you, click submit, sit back and collect the money. Again, it’s far from that simple. The forms are not “provided” for you by this site. They are part of the process of creating a Clickbank ad. And you can’t just create the ad (i.e., “click submit”) and expect to make money. You have to somehow get that ad in front of LOTS of people so that someone will click and buy. There’s no “sitting back” involved.
  • You’ll earn $15 per rebate processed. Yeah, and my grandma’s a super model. Here’s how they came up with that number. IF you sell a $37 product from Clickbank and IF the commission is $23.50, and IF you offered a rebate in your ad for $8.50, the difference of $15 is yours to keep! Woo-hoo! What about the bajillion products in Clickbank that are not $37, and for which the commission is not $23.50? Rebateprocessorjobs.com doesn’t say.
This is utter nonsense. As you know by now, you won’t make $15 for each form you fill out, so all of these numbers are purely theoretical. They are only possible IF you put your ads in front of enough people AND enough people click on your ads AND enough of those who click make a purchase AND you’ve chosen Clickbank products with a commission of $15 or more.
  • Opportunities like this do not come by every day. Yes they do. Hundreds of them, day after day after day.

Once you’ve paid your money (which is nonrefundable), you learn the full story. Here’s how it all goes down:

  1. You sign up at Clickbank, an online clearing house of thousands of products
  2. You choose products you want to sell
  3. You create ads for those products
  4. You plaster those ads all over the ‘Net (this step could cost you money)
  5. You somehow get people to see your ads. (the site doesn’t tell you this, nor how to do it)
  6. You somehow get them to click on your ads, not the dozens hundreds thousands of other ads from your competitors (the site doesn’t tell you how to do this)
  7. You only earn a commission IF someone buys the product you’re selling after clicking on the ad you created. Read that again!
  8. You send part of your commission back to the buyer

Wait…where’s the rebate? Where’s the processing? You see the last step? That’s the rebate. The “processing” is when you look at the email addresses of your buyers and manually send them money through PayPal. Not quite the “job” you were expecting, is it?

Inside Rebateprocessorjobs.com
When you pay your $37, you get instant access to the member’s area of Virtual Training Solutions. The first page you’ll see in the “members area” is a list of other money making scamsopportunities. The generous folks at Virtual Training Solutions (which is the “members area” of rebateprocessorjobs.com) give you access to all of these for no additional charge! The links below are to I’ve Tried That reviews on each topic:

If you click on the links in the members area, you’ll be taken down an endless road of the site’s affiliate links: things they are trying to sell you so they can earn the commission.

Continue to the Rebate Processing section and you’ll get full instructions on the steps I numbered for you above. The steps they outline are true, and the instructions are reasonable, but by now, a buyer will have realized that this is not a job like they were promised. There’s no way in hell you’re going to sign up for this bullshit “opportunity” and start pulling in money right away.

Other rebate processor “jobs” sites
Seen one, seen ’em all. Folks, they’re all the same. I don’t care what the url is or what the sales page says. If they promise you big money processing rebates, they’re selling you the same stinky cheese. EZrebateprocessing uses identical images to show you how the program works, so I know the program is the sam. But it charges $197!! If you must throw your money away, I suggest flushing $37 rather than $197. Or better yet, send it to me via PayPal at joe[at]ivetriedthat[dot]com. I’ll at least say, “Thank you” and will still be here in the morning!

Be wary of the following individuals and sites:

  1. Hello,
I tried to read most of these, but a bit lengthy. Have you heard about processrebatesforcash.com? They claim to be the real thing & also put down Angela Penbrook. Are they the same thing? They charge $29.97 They claim you do not place ads & you will never spend another dime. I too am one of those who are desperate to find a work at home job…..
    Thank you, Sarah

  2. @ Angela, your instincts are right on. Careless writing is often a tip off that something isn’t right. I think it’s cool that someone is offering Penbrook’s system for much less, but only because it’s one scammer undercutting the other one. If he’s selling Penbrook as part of his “real deal,” it stands to reason that the other programs are crap, too.

    @ Roxanne… ;-)

  3. i came across this site processrebatesforcash.com and this person whose name isnt mentioned, seems to bad mouth Angela Penbrook, Angel Stevens, Brenda Meyers etc, saying he is so sick and tired of people scamming people. Yet he is offering the something similar for 29.97. he claims this is the REAL DEAL and actually works, he even goes onto say “I am a fair person. I will be glad to offer you a full 100% refund.” What really made me believe that this is a scam too is that there are alot of misspelled words on this site which bothers me but even more so this person states that when you register you will have instant access to the following;

    1) Angela Penbrook’s $197 system.
    2) Rebates to process for unlimited companies
    3) Coupon offers to process
    4) Shopping rebates
    5) Direct access to people willing to pay YOU $30 and up to complete rebate offers for them.
    6) Learn how to have Paypal pay you up to $1000 just for processing rebates for them
    7) Several other Get paid to offers free as a bonus listed further down.

Has anyone seen this site and feels like it just can be real?

  4. Vivian Virgen: I saw your post re VemmaBuilder. I’m an MLM member of both Vemma (a nutritional product) and VemmaBuilder (a lead generating service). The companies are legit BUT unless you want to work very, very hard for a very long period of time in the traditional MLM way, it’s tough to make any real money. Many successful people in MLM are using the Net to work their MLM programs (including Vemma). I’m in the process of checking out some Net venues that might work to recruit people into my MLM. I’m not looking to recruit anyone here; just to let you know that the Vemma company has a good reputation.

  6. Roxanne, here are your answers, in reverse order:
The only difference is the price. You pay whatever you want to pay, but the book is the same. (This won’t always be the case.)

And the amount of time you spend working per day is usually up to you. If your employer wants a project finished in 3 days, it probably won’t work for you. But often they are flexible.

If you have solid computer skills, you should have no trouble finding jobs online. That’s very different from finding “online jobs.” We’ve seen hundreds of legitimate jobs for writers, html designers, graphics artists, personal and executive assistants, and so on. If you want to see examples of some of the jobs, check out the daily job listings at the Daily Telecommuter. Steve, my partner in crime, prescreens telecommuting jobs daily and lists only the legitimate ones, which is usually about 20 per day.

  12. Hello Everyone! God, after reading all of these comments on scams and lost money I now have one huge headache and blurred vision! I have been sent so many pop ups on maaking money online by filling out surveys from so many different companies and I flat got tired of filling them out! They go on and on and on (like the little rabbit with the batteries commercial). And they all end up asking for my bank card or credit card. You know some people may have the money to spend for these things but I am only receiving close to $1100. a month and $700. goes to rent, 205. for my little sisters car payment, and a 109 for her insurance until she can get on her feet. So that leaves me with very little left for right now. When I went online to look for ways to increase my income it wasn’t to decrease it by spending what little I had left! I have so far gotten very rich by my African relatives who died in plane crashes, car wrecks etc. that I never even knew in the first place etc.! I have also been sent money orders that I was told to take to my bank and cash and keep so much and send the rest back. (I gave them to our local police department and some to the Post Office). I’ve seen so many scams that I don’t want to trust any ways of making money online. I also have a hobby of doing genealogy and I know for a fact that I have NO relatives in Africa. (At least not so far)I really need to make extra money right now but I guess that’s not in my near future. I’m not afraid of hard work as I came from a family of 10 children and have seen cotton fields since I was old enough to walk. But I’m 56 years old today and not as physically fit as I used to be and now I’m between stages as my mother says: Not old enough for Social Security and to old for most jobs that are hiring. But If I had money to waste or flush down the toliet as you say than I wouldn’t be looking for a way to earn more in the first place! Even $20. out of my pocket right now is more than I can afford. So if any of you people know of a way to earn without spending than PLEASE let me know. I’ll place this site into my favorites and check back ever so often for a reply. Thank you very much!!! (Oh, by the way, I was also emailed by Angela and Steven Albright) I didn’t go through with the forms after it ask for my credit card. Plus I typed their names up on my search bar and wa-lla, here I am! ………Vivian

  15. Well, I admit that I fell for Penbrook’s “make money fast skeme. I pluncked down my $197. by credit card and even went out and bought a new flashdrive to keep track of my rebate business accounts. Right. I took one look at that 57 page manual on how to shake money from trees essentially and realized my huge error. I called the 1-800 number at least 800 times. Each time I was put on hold for an eternity then hung up on. I called my credit card co. who advised they could do nothing just yet because the charge had not officially posted. But they did place a fraud alert on my account so that nohting further could be added to my charge w/out my permission. Some relief, but I wanted all my money back. So I doggedly pursued that 800 number, finally reached Penbrook ‘accounting’ around 4 a.m., explained that this was not what I expected and I wanted an immediate refund. A very Polynesian accented person took basic info, promised a full credit to my card within 5-7 days. Miraculously the credit appeared within the time frame. I have learned my lesson. Barnum Bailey said it best: if it sounds too good to be true it likely is.

My advice if you get caught up in the moment?? Call you credit card co. immediately and request a fruad alert be placed on your account. At least if the skammer is unscrupulous, they cannot place more charges on your card. If you find a 1-800 number on the website, call it. Relentlessly. Pain in the posterior, but if you want a refund through the merchant, which is preferable since then your credit card co. won’t do anything right away, cue up speed dial.

    And good luck.

  17. Boy, am I ever confused and worried! I signed up for the “Process at home” program back during the first week of Jan. (Not in response to a spam email, but after Googling “Best work from home jobs”). I submitted my $197.00 payment and was contacted within 24 hours. I was sent the training sessions religously ever week for the entire seven week course that I was instructed from the very beginning that I would have to complete before being deemed “Rebate Processor”. I was told in a recent email from Angel Stevens that she is in the process of creating a data base for me to start processing the rebates that I have been trained to do. I just today stumble onto your site and am reading nothing but Scam…Scam…Scam! Is it really possible that absolutely nobody has had a positive experience with Angel Stevens?! If it isn’t her still responding to me emails, then who is?

  22. I’m still asking if anyone has any information on government rebate processing. Supposedly, the way it works is that you get a training manual from the government, followed by a list of people to call about their government rebates. Then, you get a percentage. Has anyone heard of this?

  23. To Bobby: Steve Albright operates under at least 3 different names. His basic review is ok, but then he ‘recommends’–read ‘shill’ here, another program which doesn’t work the way he claims, so be careful. He’s more subtle than other promoters, but still the same animal.
To Trackback: Angela Penbrook’s program is exactly the same as Cindy Dalton, Angela Stevens and Stephanie Edwards. You have to pay $197 for the program, then spend additional money promoting it before you see any profit, and profit is by no means guaranteed.
DC: Don’t rely on the BBB to review, regulate or oversee any Net businesses. They don’t resolve complaints and they don’t have the manpower to accurately check and review sites. Sorry, but that’s just the way it is on the Net.
Also, DC: I bought Joe’s eBook and it’s excellent, period. It’s not a money opportunity deal; it’s a comprehensive guide to finding a traditional job which lets you work on your computer at home.
People: I apologize to all for the length of this statement. I’ve looked at hundreds of business opp websites and blogs and these guys are the most professional I’ve seen, so I’m just adding my two cents that I think they’re trustworthy. I’m a retired legal secretary, if that helps with credibility.

I just called the 800# that appeared on the credit card charge, asked for the $197 refund, they did not ask why, and less than a week later I have my money back. Lesson learned…again…this time.

  33. Mike and Steve B: I’m glad to hear we saved you some hard-earned cash. The ratio of real work to “opportunities” or “programs” or outright scams online is really discouraging. Yes, there are legitimate ways to make money with your PC from home. However, if you’re looking for a full-time income, Mike, so you can be a stay-at-home dad, it would take you some time to build up to that.

My first advice to people that have fallen for gimmicks like “data entry” or “rebate processing” is to change your expectations. Chances of you finding an “online job” that makes a lot of money are very slim. Instead, work on finding a “job online.” There’s a big difference. In most legitimate “jobs” we have seen, you don’t do the work online. You find the job online, and then do the work on your own computer at home, even if you’re not online while you do it. You don’t use the Internet to do work, you use it to find real jobs that you can do from home.

Of course, there are ways to do work online and make money (this blog you’re reading is one such example), but based on your questions, it looks like you’re not asking for that kind of work.

The most complete advice we have about finding jobs online is in our book. But basically, you need to treat your search like a normal (offline) job search. Have a good resume and cover letter, sharpen your computer skills, look for the right keywords in job advertisement websites, and learn how to quickly weed out the advertisements that aren’t real jobs at all.

If you (or anyone else reading this) want to tell us more about your work experience and skills, we might be able to point you in a more specific direction.

research is the key, you found this site and it saved you money, maybe you find a site that makes you money. My advice is to stick to places like this that have open discussion about online business, sometimes your best leads are found at places that “bust” scams. I bought joe and Steves ebook and it might help someone like you.. If not then just keep digging.
Or you could just sell all your stuff on ebay!!!

  35. WOW!! Definitely glad I found this! Very informative and a saving of, $197, then $39, then $29… that’s the priceline I saw for three different rebate process job offers. Oh yeah, and every one of them had the countdown clock. Thank you for your help and thank you for the postings. I have been pretty stupid, I guess. I( have ‘Flushed’ money a couple of times. My latest was for $29.95 for a “Financial Success System” (FSS)disc. It’s “Beautiful” You pay $9 for what is basically a ‘Come-On’ power Hype disc that tells you zip about the product, but you “May” (Keyword) make “Thousands…..somehow the little disclaimer throughout should be the “Headsup” on how the huge sums “…are not typical…not a guarantee of your income…” It sets up an appointment with someone and then another $29.95 is taken from you to get you started; basically, calling others to set up appointments to sell something.
Is there ANYTHING that a person can do to make money from home working ‘Online’? Please tell me cuz’ I’se been lookin for a LONG TIME! Thanks for your Post and Time.

  36. I’m glad I found your review of rebate processing. Angela Penbrook almost stole $197 from me. I really want to be a stay at home dad. Are there legitimate ways to work at home using your PC? How do I find them?

  37. Joe, I have registered to the forum as per your request and as soon as i get the post reply privilage I surly will answer any and all questions that you may have. I am thinking that I have to wait until I get an e-mail notice correct? Because I tryed to post a reply and it has that feature inactive atr this time.

I did not say any thing about sites before because that is not what this subject is about, this subject is about rebate processing (at home work)

Jeru is the one who tryed to say that this was a part of rebate processing and I had to speak up for the sites that I work with because it is not a scam. He aparently is a very greedy person and is selling his referral links (information) for $95.
