Steve is in the shower washing the scam off, so I get to write the full review of rebateprocessorjobs.com. Like absolute suckers, we had to spend $39 of our hard-earned dollars, signed up and prepared to make tons of money. However—surprise, surprise—it’s not what the sales page led us to believe. Here’s the short review: to say that these are “jobs” is a bald-faced lie. It’s affiliate marketing. The sales page says you’ll make $15 per rebate processed. What it doesn’t tell you is that the $15 is what’s left of your sales commission after you send a rebate—from your own money—to your buyer.

Here’s the long review:
Why you’re here
What the site leads you to believe
The truth
Inside Rebateprocessorjobs.com
Other rebate processor “jobs” sites
But Joe, don’t some people make money with affiliate marketing?
Together we can put misleading Web sites out of business

Why you’re here
You’re probably here because you’ve searched for ways to earn money online. The Google gods sent you to sites saying they would help you get a job processing rebates at home. You thought, “Hmmm…that sounds pretty good. I can do that.” But you decided to look around a little to see if the site is legit. You searched some more and that brought you to us.

You came to the right place. Unlike other sites that say “we’ve tried them all and THESE are the legitimate ones,” we are not an affiliate of rebateprocessorjobs.com. We try stuff out and give you the straight truth.

What the site leads you to believe
Rebateprocessorjobs.com targets people who are searching for online jobs or other ways to earn money from the Internet. It counts on you being a little bit desperate and it appeals to your emotions by telling you that your money problems can be over and you can have the lifestyle you’ve always wanted.

It claims that you can make a lot of money by processing rebates at home, and it leads you to believe that this processing is “a job.” Well, it kind of depends on the meaning of the word “job.” If it means “work in which you throw up advertisements all over the Web in hopes that someone will buy from your ad,” then yeah, I guess it’s a job. But Rebateprocessorjobs.com knows that you don’t think of a job that way, so it’s lying by intent. Note to Rebateprocessorjobs.com: Hey! Yeah, you, “Cindy Dalton!” Here’s what “job” means: An agreement with an employer in which you exchange your time and skill for an agreed-upon amount of money. Of course, they already know that. They’re counting on you thinking that. The sales page is expressly written to lead you to believe this.

The site leads you to believe that you’ll get a job processing rebates. You think, like I did, that such a job would involve companies telling you which customer have made a qualifying purchase, and then paying you to do the necessary typing and stuff. This is not the case. The “company” making the sale is you through your Clickbank ads. The “forms” you’ll fill out to “process” the rebates are the fields necessary to send your money to the buyer from your PayPal account.

Rebateprocessorjobs.com also claims:

  • “Make money simply by filling out online forms”
  • Enter the data into the forms that we provide you, click submit, sit back and collect the money
  • You’ll earn $15 per rebate processed
  • You can make this much money:
    2 a day @ $15 each=$210 per week or $840 month or $10,080 a year.
    6 a day @ $15 each=$630 per week or $2520 month or $30,240 a year.
    15 a day @ $15 each=$1575 per week or $6300 month or $75,600 a year.
  • Opportunities like this do not come by every day.

The truth
All of these claims have kernels of truth to them, but they are intentionally misleading.

  • “Make money simply by filling out online forms.” This is a lie. You won’t make money by filling out the forms like you would if it were a real job. You make money IF someone clicks on the ad you created by filling out the form AND THEN buys the product!
  • Enter the data into the forms that we provide you, click submit, sit back and collect the money. Again, it’s far from that simple. The forms are not “provided” for you by this site. They are part of the process of creating a Clickbank ad. And you can’t just create the ad (i.e., “click submit”) and expect to make money. You have to somehow get that ad in front of LOTS of people so that someone will click and buy. There’s no “sitting back” involved.
  • You’ll earn $15 per rebate processed. Yeah, and my grandma’s a super model. Here’s how they came up with that number. IF you sell a $37 product from Clickbank and IF the commission is $23.50, and IF you offered a rebate in your ad for $8.50, the difference of $15 is yours to keep! Woo-hoo! What about the bajillion products in Clickbank that are not $37, and for which the commission is not $23.50? Rebateprocessorjobs.com doesn’t say.
This is utter nonsense. As you know by now, you won’t make $15 for each form you fill out, so all of these numbers are purely theoretical. They are only possible IF you put your ads in front of enough people AND enough people click on your ads AND enough of those who click make a purchase AND you’ve chosen Clickbank products with a commission of $15 or more.
  • Opportunities like this do not come by every day. Yes they do. Hundreds of them, day after day after day.

Once you’ve paid your money (which is nonrefundable), you learn the full story. Here’s how it all goes down:

  1. You sign up at Clickbank, an online clearing house of thousands of products
  2. You choose products you want to sell
  3. You create ads for those products
  4. You plaster those ads all over the ‘Net (this step could cost you money)
  5. You somehow get people to see your ads. (the site doesn’t tell you this, nor how to do it)
  6. You somehow get them to click on your ads, not the dozens hundreds thousands of other ads from your competitors (the site doesn’t tell you how to do this)
  7. You only earn a commission IF someone buys the product you’re selling after clicking on the ad you created. Read that again!
  8. You send part of your commission back to the buyer

Wait…where’s the rebate? Where’s the processing? You see the last step? That’s the rebate. The “processing” is when you look at the email addresses of your buyers and manually send them money through PayPal. Not quite the “job” you were expecting, is it?

Inside Rebateprocessorjobs.com
When you pay your $37, you get instant access to the member’s area of Virtual Training Solutions. The first page you’ll see in the “members area” is a list of other money making scamsopportunities. The generous folks at Virtual Training Solutions (which is the “members area” of rebateprocessorjobs.com) give you access to all of these for no additional charge! The links below are to I’ve Tried That reviews on each topic:

If you click on the links in the members area, you’ll be taken down an endless road of the site’s affiliate links: things they are trying to sell you so they can earn the commission.

Continue to the Rebate Processing section and you’ll get full instructions on the steps I numbered for you above. The steps they outline are true, and the instructions are reasonable, but by now, a buyer will have realized that this is not a job like they were promised. There’s no way in hell you’re going to sign up for this bullshit “opportunity” and start pulling in money right away.

Other rebate processor “jobs” sites
Seen one, seen ’em all. Folks, they’re all the same. I don’t care what the url is or what the sales page says. If they promise you big money processing rebates, they’re selling you the same stinky cheese. EZrebateprocessing uses identical images to show you how the program works, so I know the program is the sam. But it charges $197!! If you must throw your money away, I suggest flushing $37 rather than $197. Or better yet, send it to me via PayPal at joe[at]ivetriedthat[dot]com. I’ll at least say, “Thank you” and will still be here in the morning!

Be wary of the following individuals and sites:

  1. I was able to get my money back from the Angela Penbrook site. I emailed them like 3 times and didn’t get a response so I called the 800 number and told them I wasn’t happy and I wanted a refund. I received the refund within 3 days. Thanks to this site I didn’t wait to long to try to get a refund. Thanks.

  5. Hey Guys – even if you don’t “finish” the transaction they still got my money and the credit card company says Federal Law prohibits them from stopping transaction even if you call them to put a stop to it before it is completed .. ergo..”pending transaction” = it’s already a done deal!.. Send a written dissertation to Disputes and they will get back to you in maybe 6 weeks…

oh yeah there’s another scam to debate – fixing your credit card companies… yup I just can’t seem to learn can I? How dare my parents teach me fair play was a good thing?? — Thank guys, albeit I was late googling even though I did not “finish” the transaction with Angel’s promotion I am still $197 in further debt..

  9. I also was looking at the Processfromhome site. I had actually found it recommended by the SiteReviewAuthority.org who recommended 3 sites as totally legit. It was recommended as the number 1 rated legit online opportunity. After reading all of the reviews on your page it seems even the people supposedly claiming to find the real legit online jobs are also scammers. Thank you so much for saving me money I don’t have. By the way the other 2 recommended where iSecret System and Forex Enterprises System. I haven’t found anything on them YET but I’m sure I will. Thank you again.

  10. Just wanted to thanks for the heads up on the rebate processing situation. A part of me knew it had to be a scam based on all the emails in my SPAM folder (thank you gmail!) Just out of boredom and frustration at my current job hunting problems I decided to click and read more about it. They really work on that enticing you and slowly pulling you in and such. But out of habit I did a search and found this and many other sites proclaiming the scam. Thanks for reminding me to keep my $197.

If you truly want to get into medical transcription check in with your local community colleges. Many of them have a program that also includes medical billing. Its also a more legit certification on your resume when you start your job hunting. I looked into this before and all the online programs I found were piece meal charges, for “special” equipment, training materials and career assistance. Most medical offices do their transcription in house or require you to pick up and deliver, they also look for a more professional certification. Several online Medical Transcription training programs are fly by nite and have bad BBB ratings.

Ooops… wordy and partly off topic. Sorry! Can’t wait to get to know more about this website and become a regular.

  11. Everyone who has been burned by Angel Penbrooke has been posting their experiences all over the net. Why has this operation not been taken down in a public fashion (i.e. news report)? Anyway, the review I read here was almost identical to everyone else’s experience that is being posted throughout the web. I was about to buy the $197 package this past Saturday because I too am out of work and I refuse to be a slave to a horrible work situation ever again. But I still have to eat and I am petrified of being homeless so I was about to eat this bucket of sand out of desparation. The posts on the web saved me from spending a portion of my rent.

I wanted to share something in this post. I attempted to start a business at the beginning of the year that would have helped people across the nation and there would have been above average incomes earned by all who were aligned with me. I had to squash the idea because I did not have the money for seed capital or startup expenses. My business is time sensitive and certain actions must be completed by specific calendar days. That means I will have to wait until January 1st to attempt to do this again. This business will elminate the need for anyone who is aligned with me to exstinguish any desires to search for a work from home, high-paying (real) job that any web site can offer. Can anyone direct me to a seed capital operation who would listen to my plan and realize and consider me based on the plan? Currently, my credit and economic status will not put me in a position to apply for a loan.

  13. Thank you so very much Joe and Steve for all of your hard work in letting us know about all the scams out there on Rebate Processing! I too got all caught up in the hype and actually went and paid the $197 on Angela’s site. Fortunately, after reading everything I could find about the her and this scam – I made a wise decision to retrack my decision! I checked my bank account and the money was still pending, which meant that it had not been taken out yet! I quickly put a stop payment on it, so I only lost a small fraction of it on the bank fees. I do know that a lot of people out there are not as lucky as I was though! That is why I can’t thank you enough for posting sites like this!!! I hope Angela reads all of these posts and realizes all the money she is losing as we continue to spread the word!!!! But I know that is wishful thinking…

  14. @Joe: You guys really are awesome! I am actually checking out the job section of your website right now, also some of the websites that are listed as possibilities on there too. As for some of the things that you all suggested that I feel I might be able to do… Copywriter, Proofreader, Audio-to-type transcription, Personal and Professional administrative assistant and possibly Web site design.

Most of what I’ve done professionally involved general typing (memos etc.) and data entry. I have past experience with doing web sites and programs like PowerPoint, but would need some refreshers (you know how it goes… you don’t use it… you lose it) to be what I would consider extremely proficient again. That’s pretty vague I’m sure, but hopefully you get a general idea. And as always, anything I don’t know, I make an effort to learn (something many employers I’ve had in the past considered a good trait).

    Thanks Again & Best Regards.

  15. @ Sheila: We need to take a closer look at Steve Albright and his reviews. My first impression: he tells a straight story, but then turns around and promotes things that he just said are misleading. I don’t get it. I don’t know anything about his “Blueprint.” But if it’s free, you have nothing to lose by looking into it. You’ll be added to an e-mail list and will receive offers, but you can probably unsubscribe at any time. And I’m with you, the $197 figure is veeeeery interesting.

I don’t know much about medical transcription from home, but I’m almost certain, based on what I do know about the business, that it would require some face-to-face contact with a clinic or doctor’s office. It also requires a fair amount of training–it’s not just simple typing. So if a program online wants to sell you a starter kit and promises immediate income, I’d stay away. If it is honestly selling high quality training, it might be worth a more serious look.

  16. @ EKPearson: You’re welcome. I’m glad you didn’t flush cash. Did you see our 10 Commandments for Avoiding Online Scams? Follow them and it’s almost certain you’ll never be fooled again. Which example jobs did you think might be right for you? We’ll do what we can to help. Until you can buy the book, check out our “Work at Home Jobs” tab at the top of the page. It lists 15-20 pre-screened, legitimate jobs every day, all of which are for people with some computer skills.

@ Peggy: I’ve also wondered who does all the rebate processing for big companies like Best Buy and etc. (Whoever it is, they do a lousy job! It takes 6-8 weeks for a stupid rebate. It sure didn’t take Best Buy 6-8 weeks to take my money!) But logically thinking, it would have to be a BIG company to process tens of thousands of rebates that would come through. They would need access to a lot of different computer systems and databases. I’m sure it’s all done electronically after the initial paperwork is scanned or typed in. In other words, not the kind of work you and I could do from home.

  17. I just wanted to say an incredible “THANK YOU!” to the creators of this site.

I too like many people who’ve previously posted here am at a extreme low point financially thanks to being sick (medical bills tend to build up quickly! ack!) and still trying to find a job (my husband’s full-time job doesn’t make enough to meet standard bills). I’ve ignored the emails I’ve had in my e-mail account for months now, but in a stupid moment of desperation checked one out and was of course immediately drawn into the flashy advertisements for Rebate Processing and the promises of good side income that comes with it.

I thank God for giving me a small moment of clarity to investigate, for finding this site and avoiding being suckered into a scam like so many unfortunate people have already done.

I’ve looked at the e-book advertisement you guys offer and will try and grab it at first opportunity that a few extra dollars lend as it offers a few new real options for income. I am computer literate (thanks to doing clerical work for 10 plus years) and a lot of the example jobs you had listed could be up my alley for some extra income.

Thanks again and God bless! Will keep this site in favorites for a long time to come!

  19. Hello Joe and Steve,
I’m so glad that you are “out there” protecting the less-informed – a sincere “Thank You” from all of us.
I was hoping that you would shed some light on the following programs that Steve Albright recommends on his “review” web site.
They are: Project Payday, Profit Lance, Site Build It & 7 Steps to Mastering Forclosure.
He also offers a book entitled “Internet Income Blue Print”. How interesting that it is a $197.00 value offered for “free”. I’m sure that dollar value is not coincidential.
Thank you again for your time,
    Sheila

  24. Hi Kristy,
A Web site asking for money (selling something) is not automatically a sign of a scam. But if it claims to set you up with jobs and asks for money, be very suspicious. Jobs pay you, not the other way around.

The site you mentioned has a couple of good signs: the name of a person you can call. I’d recommend calling that number and talking to her. It’s not a long sales page full of hype. It’s much less “in your face” than many others. It never hurts to have more information, so go ahead and go to the meeting. However, if you have to pay before going to the meeting, I would take that as a warning sign.

Be sure to check out the other warnings signs in our I’ve Tried That 10 Commandments.

  25. Hi Joe,
I just have a quick question on recent emails that I received. They claim that their business helps moms to work at home through investment and all I have to pay is $14. It sounds a little fishy to me because I’ve learned that when a site ask you to pay it’s almost turned out to be a scam. They told me to attend a meeting online where they’ll go through the step of showing moms to do investment. Do you have any advice on these kind of advertisement? Thanks

You avoid not hearing from a potential employer by having a killer cover letter and resume. If those are in place and you haven’t heard back in 3 business days, it would be perfectly appropriate to write a polite follow-up note. If you still don’t hear from them, a third is probably not necessary. Either they weren’t interested, they’re flaky. And you don’t want to work for anyone flaky.

Keep sending out those letter and resumes. You’ll hit one eventually.

I was seriously thinking of the rebate processing deal but, having been scammed before, decided there must be a way to check it out independently. I came across this site. It amazes me how powerful the lure of a promise of easy money is to people, and I include myself in that. I have a good job and have always been able to care of my wife and family but I still pay too much attention to the scam ads for easy riches. I would like to generate a second source of income as a safety net against the unforeseen. I have spent a lot of time reading these posts but it is time well spent.

Now, I need to get to the bank to help bail out some Nigerian royalty in trouble for a reward they promised me…..just kidding, that isn’t one I fell for.

  33. Hello everyone, so i went to this rebate processing site again, funny how this site used to be represented by Angela Pembrook and had all these different testimonials, i just went there and it is a completely different person named Angel Stevens, before i left the site they have a “live agent” who would give you a huge discount if you signed up right away, so i chatted for a minute told him or her i wasn’t stupid and i know what they were up to and that they would be caught soon, funny how this live agent had NOTHING to say after that. So everyone be careful of these e-mails you get, really if you open it you will see every one of these emails comes from a different website each time, and they don’t exist.

    Dont fall for the BS!!

So what they do is just directly lie to you about what they offer. I learned my lesson too. I see through 98% of scams. But when they tell them good guy lies, that is something different.

  38. I would be interested in finding out what Patricia has to say about the processrebatesforcash.com program when and if she tries to use it…especially since one of the links from that page led me to this thread. Thought you guys might want to know that…kind of an interesting marketing ploy there.

JERU, YOUR DEAL SUCKS AS WELL, SO JUST STOP, IT’S STUPID.

  41. I tried the Process at Home program and found it to be less than I had anticipated. I requested a refund via an e-mail to Angel Stevens. ClickandBuy promptly refunded my $197.00 within a few days. You probably can make a lot of money with this type of program but it takes money to make it work. It is a multi-level marketing program that requires placing your ads in front of many people, on the web, in hopes that your ad does the job!
For a fee of 3,500-7,000 dollars your “coach” will walk you thru the hard stuff!

  42. @Angela and Sarah: I ordered the processrebatesforcash.com program and have read it over. I have not tried to use it yet (busy with other things at the moment). However, the material is reasonably well written and easy to understand. It looks legit and the steps appear to be easy to follow. I wouldn’t say that it’s a ripoff. But since I haven’t actually tried to work it yet, I can’t say that it works, either. For me, it was worth spending $29.95 just for the info, because in addition to the specific steps to follow, I think the author gives a pretty good overview of how the industry works, which would be important for anyone wanting to give it a try. If you’re going to spend money checking out the rebate industry, $29.95 is a much better value than $197 any day! Hope this helps!
